What do you get with a Flavourly Craft Gin Club box?
Now, I am right in the middle of Dry January, so I haven’t been enjoying my drink of choice for over 2 weeks. However, before Christmas I was sent a Flavourly Craft Gin Club box to try, and I just couldn’t wait to tell you about it.
One of the things that I love about gin is that there is such a huge variety of different gins available. When people tell me that they don’t like gin, I am sure it is just that they haven’t found a gin that they like. There is a gin out there for everyone. The trouble comes from finding that gin. This is where gin subscription boxes are great. With all of these, you are sent craft gin or gins to help you discover your new favourite.
The Flavourly Craft Gin Club box is similar to other gin subscription boxes in that you get gin, mixers and snacks. A perfect monthly treat for any gin lover. My box came with 3 Scottish gins, 2 Fentiman’s mixers and 3 Nain’s “Snackers”. In addition to these goodies, was the monthly Flavourly magazine which contained some interesting pieces about the gins (amongst other things) in the box.
The two mixers included in this month’s box were Fentiman’s Rose Lemonade and Light Tonic Water. I have had both of these before and really like them. The Light Tonic Water is a great mixer anyway, but I have particularly enjoyed the Rose Lemonade with strawberry flavoured gins in the past.
Included in the box were 3 packets of Nairn’s “Snackers”, each in a different flavour. Think oatcakes but smaller and crispier. All three packets were devoured pretty quickly!
Of course, the gin is the whole point of the box. These three were ones that I hadn’t heard of before, so I was eager to try them. The Teasmith Gin and Leith Gins were both good. Great with a slice of orange to garnish and very easy to drink. But my absolute favourite was the GILT gin. This one is based on a single malt spirit and as a result it is a very different gin. I love different. I love this gin. I think if you prefer a traditional style, juniper-strong gin, then this might not be the one for you. However, if you do like something a bit different, then I would strongly recommend you give it a go.
I have previously been a subscriber to Gin Festival’s Gin Explorer Box. In this box, you get 4 double gins, mixers and snacks. I have also tried the Craft Gin Box subscription. Here, in addition to the mixers and snacks, you receive one full sized bottle of gin. The Flavourly Craft Gin Club box sits nicely between these. You get several different gins to try, but in 200ml bottles so you can sample each gin a few times. This way you can experiment with different mixers and garnishes. It also means get a few opportunities to decide if it is worth investing in a full sized bottle.
The Flavourly Craft Gin Club box costs £34.99 with free postage. You can choose to have your box monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly and can cancel at any time. If you love trying new gins, it is definitely worth trying the Flavourly Craft Gin Club box. Of course, it would also make a great present for a gin lover. And the great thing about this box, it is also great for gin-loving couples as the 200ml bottles mean you can both enjoy each of the gins properly.
If you want to give it a go, then you can get £10 off your first box using the code 10GINLOVER or using this link.
