Westonbirt September 2014
This week we had another trip to Westonbirt Arboretum. It was a lovely sunny day, still feeling quite summery but with a hint of autumn as we walked around. There were a few crisp brown leaves underfoot to crunch through and a few trees with beautiful autumnal red leaves.
It was fairly quiet around the old arboretum so we could enjoy the surroundings with the feeling that we were the only ones there. We enjoyed a picnic after which Emily enjoyed the freedom of being out of the backpack to have a wander around.
As always there were plenty of things to explore in the woods and the girls enjoyed playing in The Exploratree afterwards.
I can’t wait for another visit as we come to my favourite time of the year. I always try to go close to my birthday in October and I feel that it is at this time that the arboretum is really at its best, and from how it was looking at this time, it is looking like it is going to be another wonderful autumn this year.
