The Play Area at Sudeley Castle
I visited Sudeley Castle as part of an Instameet at the start of April without the girls, but seeing the Play Area there, I HAD to come back with them. The Play Area is like no other I have seen. It is HUGE, with so much for children of all ages to enjoy. The centrepiece is a wooden castle. It is built on several levels and there is so much for children to explore.

There are stairways, ladders and climbing walls to get up, and slides and a fireman’s pole to come down.

The castle would probably be enough to keep any child entertain for some time, but this is only part of the enormous play area. My girls really enjoyed the zipwire. Like the play area itself, it was generous in size. The only disadvantage with this was that they needed a bit of help returning it to the start, so parents were roped in to doing this, rather than being able to have a well-deserved rest.

At the furthest side of the play area were swings and an adventure trail. My two enjoyed trying to cross it without touching the ground.

In addition to all of this is a 10-piece obstacle course.

Thankfully there are also a few picnic benches here as you will need somewhere to sit down for the hours that the children are going to want to play here. There is also plenty of space, so well worth taking a blanket to sit on if it is busy.
A word of warning though. If you are visiting Sudeley to see the stunning castle and gardens (and why wouldn’t you?), then you might want to leave the play area until the end of your visit. Once the kids are in there they will not want to leave. It does makes it perfect to use for bribery, and with it being close to the entrance and exit, at least you won’t have to go too far with crying children who don’t want to stop playing!
