Returning to the Confetti Fields, Wick
Last year Emily and I visited the Real Flower Petal Confetti Company’s flower fields in Wick, Worcestershire. I managed to get lots of lovely pictures with Emily amongst the delphiniums. However, Freyja was a bit disappointed that she had missed out. The Confetti Fields are only open for ten days, so I didn’t get a chance to go back with Freyja last year. This year I was determined that we wouldn’t miss out!
Last year, Emily and I were able to go on a weekday when I wasn’t at work and she wasn’t at nursery. With both girls at school now, we visited on the first of the two weekends that it is open. Going at the weekend also meant that Rich could come too, so it gave us a chance to get some pictures of us with the girls and as a family with the flowers as a beautiful backdrop. We even got a very rare photo of Rich and I!
It was just as beautiful as I remembered from last year. There were the same pink, blue and white delphiniums which were to be harvested and used for confetti. However, I also spotted a few poppies, masses of pink cornflowers and what looked like very dark red cornflowers.
Although we arrived soon after the fields were open, the place was really busy. From my social media feeds, it seemed that so many people I knew were also there that weekend. I still managed to get quite a few photos, however, the pop up café was so busy, we didn’t hang around for very long afterwards. Instead, we ended up finding a lovely pub not too far away and enjoyed food and drink in their beer garden.
