Professor Scrubbington’s Emporium of Clean
I had a lovely surprise in the post a few days ago as I was lucky enough to be sent a goody box from Professor Scrubbington’s Emporium of Clean – or rather the girls were the lucky ones as this is a new range of toiletries aimed at young people! We were sent hand and face wash, shampoo, conditioner and hair and body wash. We were also sent a roll on, but the girls are still a bit young for this!
The products are really aimed at primary school children who are wanting to take some control over washing themselves, and to help them do this, the products foam as they are squirted out. This makes it much easier for little hands to hold and use to wash themselves. My two can be fiercely independent at times. They want to do everything for themselves, but of course I still need them to be properly cleaned. The foam doesn’t slide off their hands as easily as normal hand and body washes so it makes it much easier to help teach them how to clean themselves, whilst actually getting them washed properly in the process. The bottles are also designed so that it is easy enough for young children to be able to squirt the products out by themselves.
There is another advantage to foaming products. The air bubbles within the foam also mean that you are using less product per squirt so it lasts a lot longer – despite there being a huge dollop of product on your hands to use! The products contain natural ingredients (none of those nasty parabans that you may have read about), and use aloe vera to moisturise the skin.
I think the girls have always seen the “getting clean” part of bath time a bit of a chore but they both get excited when they know they are going to get a dollop of foam on their hands to get clean – you may be wondering why they don’t have the bottle themselves when I have previously been saying about how easy it is for little hands to use? Well, quite frankly at the end of the day I don’t want an argument over who is holding the bottle!
Now, when I am given a product to test, I like to really test it, so I put the range through its paces after Freyja’s swimming lesson. I am pleased to report that the shampoo and conditioner left her hair feeling soft, looking clean and most importantly smelling clean and fresh without a trace of chlorine. The hair and body wash had a similar affect on her skin.
The smell of the products are really different from what I am used to using with the girls. Rather than the scent of baby lotion or lavender, this has a hint of freshly cut grass. It smells clean and a bit more grown up. Ideal really when they really aren’t babies any more. Something that I am having to accept.
Disclaimer: We were sent the products for review, but as always all words and opinions are my own!
