One of the things I love about this time of year is when you get a sunny day – you have to just get outside and make the most of the weather. Rich is busy spending time with his other woman (his old VW car before you wonder!) so Sunday I decided to take the girls out to Pittville Park in Cheltenham to get some fresh air and meet up with friends.
I thought I wouldn’t bother with a pushchair for Emily as she just wants to be out of it running around, so I put her reins on her. Thankfully, big sister was more than happy to help look after her – letting Emily squelch in mud, splash in the puddles and looking at the animals together.
Pittville is great as not only does it have the animals and traditional play areas, there is also a “natural play area” with logs to climb on amongst other things, so there is plenty to keep the girls entertained.
Emily really enjoyed having a bit more freedom this time. She loved being able to run around with her sister and her friends, and especially enjoyed being able to explore.
It was a long walk for her, so on the way back she needed to be carried. There was only one person she would let carry her back though – Auntie Kelly!
I feel very lucky to have somewhere so close to spend a few hours and lovely friends to enjoy it with us.
