Out of the mouths of babes
I had to wake Freyja this morning in order to get her ready on time for nursery. She rolled over, stretched and climbed out of bed and onto my lap. After about 5 minutes of silent sleepy cuddles, she looked up at me with her beautiful big blue eyes, pointed at my chest and said “Booby!”
Later on this morning Emily and I were sat in the waiting room at the doctor’s surgery and a 6 year old girl struck up a conversation with me (I know she was 6 as that was one of the many details of her life she decided to share with me). She took great delight in telling me about her ear infection (left ear) and how her dog (Milly) also had an ear infection (right ear) and how when she put her finger in her ear she pulled out a load of gunk and that made her ear feel a bit better. Meanwhile her mother sat next to her, sank lower into her chair.
I love the young children just seem to come out with the most random statements. Recently a little girl at Freyja’s nursery informed me, quite out-of-the-blue that she “loves her nanny and grandad” and another little boy declared that he was “wearing a blue cardigan!”
Every week I become more and more impressed with Freyja’s language skills. She can be quite the chatterbox and she is very bossy “I need you to come here right now Mummy!” being said fairly regularly. It is wonderful to have her conversations with her. It would just be nicer if the first thing she said to me in a morning wasn’t “Booby!”
