Num Noms Review and Giveaway
-You may have noticed some new collectibles appearing on the shelves at Tesco this week. They are the super cute Num Noms which have taken the USA by storm and are set to do the same here. Num Noms are scented miniature characters inspired by the sweet flavours of ice creams and cupcakes. As the name suggests, there are two types of character: Nums and Noms. Nums are soft and squishy and can be sat upon the Noms, which are hard-shelled characters that are either motorised or filled with flavoured lip gloss.
The girls each had a mystery tub, which looks like a little pot of yoghurt. Inside was a Num and a flavoured Nom lip gloss. They loved the excitement of discovering what was inside, then sniffing the Num and trying to guess what “flavour” it was and then doing the same with the lip gloss Nom.
Inside the Num Nom starter pack was three Nums and one motorised Nom, plus a spoon and a cup. I was happy to see that the motorised Nom already had a battery inside, so I didn’t have to worry about finding and inserting the right battery whilst the girls were desperate to get their hands on the toy. They loved the little motorised Nom scooting around the tabletop and floor, and I can imagine the fun they would have racing a couple of these.
There are a huge range of different Nums and Noms to collect – each with a different scent, so you can stack them up and create lots of different flavour combinations. You can see the full range on the Num Noms website as well as download colouring sheets and spot-the-difference activity sheets.
I do love the way that these collectibles are a bit different in that they are based on scents, but I am a little lost in exactly how I would play with them. Obviously I am old and know nothing, as they do definitely entertain the girls. They have mainly been used as food items in their tea parties, but I have also seen them being used along with other figures when Freyja has been playing “school” and have been used in “hide-and-seek” games (although I will admit that I am unsure whether this was a game or a way of stopping the other sister getting their hands on them!). Either way, I am sure that these cute little collectibles will start appearing in playgrounds, being played with and swapped before too long!
So, what are your thoughts on these new collectibles? If you fancy getting your hands on some of your own I have one Deluxe Set of Num Noms and 2 Mystery Pots for one lucky reader.
