My new Hotter shoes
We all know the story of Cinderella. She was given a beautiful pair of shoes, met her prince in them and then they got married and lived happily ever after. But what was their happily ever after? I’d like to think they had a couple of gorgeous children, but I imagine Cinders had to put those glass slippers away. They don’t seem particularly practical for walking around in whilst carrying a baby in your arms, or running after a toddler.
I love my life as a mother, but all the “killer” heeled shoes that I once cherished are gathering dust at the back of a wardrobe and have been replaced by boring, unattractive “sensible” shoes. A couple of weeks ago I made a decision. I don’t want to spend the next few years in a pair of shoes that I don’t love. I want comfort and practicality, but I want to be wearing shoes that make me feel happy every time I slip them on my feet
So last week I paid a visit to the Hotter shop in Cheltenham. I explained what I wanted to Ella and she showed me a few possibilities, explaining to me about their features and the colours they were available in. She bought me a few different styles to try on. All of them were so comfortable and it took me quite some time to decide on a pair, but I fell in love with the Donna Heels in dark aqua.
They are such a beautiful shoe – very feminine, but really comfortable and practical. I loved the cute bow at the front, but the gap at the front of the shoe allows for a bit more room, giving a bit more comfort – especially if you have wider feet as I do. I love the little touches as well like the floral lining and pattern on the underside.
The next day I put my new Hotter shoes to the “Comfort Test”. As a Secondary Science teacher I am on my feet most of the day so would my Donna Heels be able to cope with a full teaching day followed by collecting the girls from nursery?
My “typical” day involves leaving after house just after 7:30am and driving to work to arrive by 8am. My day involved teaching in four different rooms – one of these being up a flight of stairs, and I am on my feet for most of the lesson. I also have a lot of walking around school – to my tutor group, tray in the staff room and photocopier. I am not on my feet for the entire day – sitting down for coffee at break I had lots of complements from my colleagues about my gorgeous new shoes. But by the time I leave at 4:30pm to collect the girls I usually have a pair of tired feet.
My new shoes were comfortable to drive in, and when I arrived home just after 5pm, carrying Emily, our bags and holding Freyja’s hand as we walked in through the front door, I found it hard to believe that I had been wearing a brand new pair of shoes. I am used to having to “wear in” my shoes and expect the odd blister until my feet have “got used” to my shoes. But these felt like I had been wearing them for months. I even felt a bit sad taking them off at the end of the day.
I am a complete convert to Hotter Shoes now they really are so comfortable and practical. My Donna Heels are so cozy yet make me feel feminine and pretty when I am wearing them. My life has moved on from the glass slipper stage – my Donna Heels are my “happily ever after” shoes, but it seems like somebody else has their eye on them….
Disclaimer: I was gifted my pair of Donna Heels in exchange for a fair and honest review about them.
They do look lovely!
I must put a pair on my wishlist!
They are gorgeous and so comfy. Highly recommended – and I believe they have a shop in Worcester!
They look lovely! Really like the colour, I am not good in heels these days but wonder if I could manage these? X
Definitely worth giving them a go – the staff in the Hotter shop by me were really friendly and helpful

I know what you mean, but always nice to have a pair of heels in your wardrobe.
They are beautiful. I miss my killer heels even though I usually fall off them! I need some pretty but practical shoes in my life so I shall take a look Hotter shoes
#sundaystars
Definitely check out Hotter. They have some really lovely shoes, and if there is a shop near you, the staff are really helpful. Hope you find your pretty yet practical shoes too!
They do look gorgeous shoes. That colour is divine and the heel size looks perfect. It adds some height and a glam factor but is practical for a mum who is running around all day. I struggle to find comfy shoes and end up living in my Converse. But these look gorgeous and by the sounds of them are hugely comfy. What more could you ask from a pair of shoes? Hugs Mrs H xxxx PS I love that photo at the end. So cute. PPS. I hear that glass slippers really aren’t very practical, get scuffed or chipped easily and are a nightmare to clean. #SundaysStars
Hahaha! Love it! Go and check out Hotter – there are quite a few lovely shoes which are also comfy!
I love them – so pretty! I’m awful in heels but these look like a decent height and the chunkier heel would be good – the colour is beautiful! Mim x #sundaystars

They are SO comfortable! You will be a complete Hotter convert!
