Media and PR

I am always open to working with brands that are a good fit with my family-focused blog.

I have had the pleasure of working with holiday brands Q Lodges, Parkdean, Forest Holidays and Darwin Escapes (and have also contributed to a post for Darwin Escapes), days out at The National Sealife Centre, Birmingham and Puzzlewood in The Forest of Dean and have reviewed products for Splash About, Hotter Shoes and Toys Alive.

Myself, and my family love the new experiences that working with brands bring, and in return I pride myself on providing a thorough and honest review, promoting the review via social media platforms and working professionally at all times. Joe Metcalfe (PR contact for Parkdean Holidays) says

“Without doubt, Karen is one of the best bloggers I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Not only is Karen a fantastic writer, she responds quickly to emails and is always exceeding my clients expectations. On top of this Karen is a fantastic individual who I would recommend to anyone interested in working with her”.

My posts have featured on Mini Travellers, Mumsnet, The Huffington Post, GoodToKnow and my very personal post about moving on after being widowed led to being featured in The Daily Mail.

Being and mother and a teacher, I have also developed a love for gin, and have been lucky enough to work with The Craft Gin Club, and Gin Festival – with whom I wrote a review for the Gloucester Gin Festival.

In 2015 I was extremely proud that my blog was shortlisted for a Britmums Brilliance in Blogging Award in the Family Category, and this year I am one of 6 finalists in the MAD Blog Awards Schooldays category.

I really enjoy writing, especially sharing the humorous side of parenting. My favourite posts have to be “My Apologies to the Galaxy” which is an open to letter to every that I apparently upset when I wouldn’t let Freyja get her own way, and my parody of Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer” called “Pass The Gin”.
