Lazy Afternoon in the Garden
One of the things I love most about the dry, sunny weather and longer days is the stolen hours that you can get in the garden on an afternoon. The days of picking up the girls from nursery in the dark are distant memories. Now we can get home and have at least an hour outside before their bath and bedtime.
As the girls get older, the garden has become more like an outside playroom. They have a chalkboard for drawing on – but they are just as happy scrawling all over the patio. They love their playhouse and sandpit. I am sure that the paddling pool will be out again soon and there is a stash of water bombs waiting for a suitable moment for an impromptu water fight. There is also nothing like a bit of sunshine to get them playing nicely with each other.
I also really like that the girls want to do the usual “inside” activities outside. Here Emily is just enjoying books with her Grandma and Grandad.
Of course, if you are a little more grown up, there is always the newspaper to enjoy….
(This is actually Freyja ruining the crossword in the newspaper by colouring it it!)
