Gloucester Park
We seem to have been blessed by the weather at the moment and have luckily had a few dry weekends so have been able to get out and about. On one occasion we decided to spend an hour or so on a Sunday morning in Gloucester Park.
The girls were keen to have a bounce on the trampoline. Emily was a little cautious at first, so Rich had to go on with her until her confidence had grown – or at least that was his excuse!
Before long she was happily bouncing by herself. She enjoyed standing on the edge and then leaping onto the trampoline surface.
Freyja had lots of fun bouncing too, not just on two feet, but on all fours.
Every time I take Freyja to the park, I am always amazed by her increasing confidence. She used to be so nervous – wanting to hold onto a hand as she came down a slide, but today she was off exploring the park and climbing on the various pieces of equipment without needing me there for her.
I’m not sure if it is down to the fact that she is now at school, but she looks so grown up. She is still laughing and playing as she would at any trip to a park, but suddenly she seems so much older.
Emily has always been far more confident. She sees what her big sister can do, and assumes that she can do exactly the same. For the most part, she is fearless. However, she met her match on one of the pieces of equipment at Gloucester Park.
Thankfully, swings are always a fairly safe bet.
And they are even better when you have your daddy with you as he pushes you much higher than mummy ever dares to….
And of course, even though they loved playing in the play area, they probably had the most fun as they ran around together and chased after each other on the bandstand.
What a lovely trip to the park. Love the photos of the girls on the trampoline. It is lovely to see how children’s confidence grows and watch them becoming more adventurous with exploring and playing although I have a similar problem with a little one who thinks she can do everything her big sister can do and has added a few extra grey hairs to my head as a result of being a little too adventurous! 🙂
It is sweet that little sisters want to be like their big sisters, but not good for my nerves!
I love the look of the trampoline, what a great thing to have in a park. Our parks are a bit naff although they are promising to do up one of the main ones near us. x
We are really lucky with the parks by us
Lovely photos Karen, you can’t beat a day out at the park when we get the nice Autumn weather! We have a trampoline like that at our park too and the boys love it, I once had a go and quite sadly realised that my bladder wasn’t up to it, haha. I know what you mean about them seeming older once they’ve started school too, Lucas comes out with a lot of new things now that he obviously has picked up at school, it’s a whole little world of their own isn’t it xx
Hahaha! I couldn’t get on the trampoline for all those pesky kids wanting to use it.
I always enjoyed these type of trampolines when I was a child, in fact I quite fancy having a go now too 🙂
I was trying to get a jump in myself, but was proving too popular with the kids to get a go
What a lovely trip. I think that about Lily too, she just has a way of looking at me that I think she has picked up from confidence at school that I think makes her look more grown up. It’s been fan weather hasn’t it! #countrykids
We have been so lucky with the weather – I have a feeling that it will be coming to the end very soon though!
Fab pics Karen. We are so lucky in Gloucestershire, there are some great parks:) #CountryKids
We are aren’t we? The small local ones to us are great and we have three within walking distance!
