I may be a little partial to gin. OK, a lot partial. I love it. I heard that “gin makes you cry” – in my case, lack of gin makes me cry. After a tough day, Rich came home to find that I had added the following to our shopping list.
I realised that I must go on about gin a bit too much last week when my Head of Department bought in some damsons from her garden which had been carefully bagged up into portions for damson gin. So I pricked all the damsons, added 2oz of sugar and 75cl of gin (not the expensive stuff) and have left it in two sterilised plastic milk bottles. I have to give it a bit of a shake every day until the end of half term when I need to use muslin to strain off everything from the gin. Then apparently it is best left for another couple of months. It may not make it that long.
I will obviously let you know how it tastes….
