Getting our #HatsOn for #BBCCiN
I have been a teacher for almost 20 years now, and in all the schools in which I have taught, we have always done something to raise money for BBC Children In Need. Their vision that every child in the UK should have a childhood which is safe, happy and secure, and which allows them the chance to reach their potential is exactly what I want to be able to do both as a teacher and a parent. Children in Need funds projects which help disadvantaged children across the country, such as those in poverty and deprivation, and those who have been the victims of abuse or neglect or disabled young people.
There are so many ways you can help. Many schools across the country will be holding non-uniform days, cake sales and other fundraising events. However, even if you don’t have school-aged children, there are other ways to get involved. For example, Blacks have teamed up with the BBC show Countryfile for the Countryfile Ramble. Special BBC Countryfile rambles will take place all across the UK this autumn. The challenge is to get the country outside and rack up a target of 18,505 miles, whilst raising money for Children In Need. Last year, over £100,000 was raised by the Countryfile Ramble for Children In Need.
Of course, rambling at this time of year can be a bit chilly. Therefore, the must-have accessory for any ramble is the Countryfile Ramble Bobble Hat which has been produced by Blacks to support BBC Children in Need 2018 Appeal. As you would expect, it is a Pudsy-yellow coloured hat in soft, stretchy acrylic. The hat costs £7, with a minimum 50% of the product price to be donated to BBC Children in Need 2018. You can purchase the Children In Need hat from Blacks. They are definitely the thing to be keeping you warm as you walk on a cold autumnal day.
I love getting outside for a walk. There really is nothing like a bit of exercise and fresh air to get you feeling better. It’s a great way to spend time together as a family, and even better to know that you can get all these benefits for yourself, and be doing something to help others.
Disclaimer: We were kindly sent the Children In Need hats from Blacks but all thoughts and opinions are my own. I will be donating the full cost of the hats to Children In Need to help raise money for all their good causes.
