Enchanted Christmas at Westonbirt Arboretum
As magnificent as Westonbirt is in all its autumn glory, now is the time to visit for a really magical walk around the arboretum. Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings from the end of November to Christmas is their “Enchanted Christmas” – a one mile long trail through the old arboretum which is illuminated to give a very different view of the trees.
The magnificent specimens of the old arboretum lit up in a variety of colours
We visited on a crisp, clear night, with a bright full moon shining through the trees
Even those trees simply lit look amazing
The sheer size of some of the specimens is illustrated by simple lighting from a distance
Leafless trees have different vibrancy of colour now compared with their state in summer and autumn
Huge, lit ornaments hanging in some of the trees
Large, bare trees standing out as they are individually lit in different colours
Eerie smoke rings light up in changing colours as they are blown towards you
Who doesn’t like a glitter ball?
Freyja met Father Christmas, dressed in traditional green garb and wearing a holly crown.
