Emily’s new bedding from Ollie and Leila
Second children usually get hard done by when it comes to their nursery. Rich designed some beautiful animal canvases for Freyja’s nursery, but of course, when you already have a child, it is difficult to find the time to do something similar for the next child. When we decorated Emily’s nursery, we painted it in a pale blue and decorated the walls with pink flowers. I even found the time to crochet her a matching blanket so she didn’t feel too hard done by. Emily is no longer a baby, so it is time to update her room, but rather than spending time painting perfectly good walls, I have decided to use the bedding to make it less of a nursery and more of a room suitable for a little girl. I had a look at some of the lovely bedding from Ollie and Leila.
Emily loves butterflies, so I was immediately drawn to the Butterfly-Flutterby Single Duvet set. The pink and turquoise colours in the pattern would go beautifully in her room.
The duvet set is made from 100% cotton, and this gives it a really soft, quality feel, perfect for snuggling up under at night. Against the bright white background of the duvet cover are the applique butterflies in pink, turquoise and purple colours. They also vary in size and textures, and I particularly like the gingham, polka dot and stripey butterflies. The duvet and pillow case are finished off with a contrasting pink trim.
Of course, when it comes to children’s bedding, it isn’t just a case of looking and feeling good. They have to be practical. This set, like the others from Ollie and Leila, wash at 30 degrees and can be tumble-dried. They also come with a 12 month guarantee. This means, that I am happy with the new bedding, and of course Emily loves her pretty butterfly bed!
