Checking out the new Jessops store in Cheltenham
Starting this blog over four years ago has had a real impact on my hobbies. I have always enjoyed taking pictures. I love capturing moments to look back on in the future. An image of a place that evokes all the memories and feelings you had when you visited. Pictures of the girls to look back at how they have changed over time. I enjoy using my camera, and really want to improve my photography skills. Jessops in Cheltenham have recently had a revamp and I was invited to check out their new store.
The store is located inside Sainsbury’s at Gallagher Retail Park, and is open 7 days a week. The store itself was completely different to what I was expecting. The light and airy shop has the feel of a café. The staff were exactly what I would expect from an established photography brand like Jessops. The Assistant Manager who showed me around was friendly, helpful and obviously really knowledgeable about photography and all that Jessops have to offer to their customers.
As you might expect from any shop, a lot of Jessops products are displayed around the store. Jessops offer so many different products including personalised gifts, photobooks, frames and albums. Obviously you can buy all these things online, but there is no substitute from being able to properly see these items before you buy them – especially when it comes to personalised gifts. One thing that makes this store different from others is how beautifully all their products are displayed.
As you would expect Jessops printing service offer a wide range of different products; canvas prints, acrylic prints, aluminium prints, gallery prints and photo posters. I am always a little overwhelmed by this much choice, not knowing what would be the best to use. The Wall Art display is a perfect starting point for deciding on how you can best display your print. With the expertise from the staff, they really will help you get the most out of your pictures.
The real star feature of the store has to be the photo printing service. You can sit yourself down at one of the computers and plug in any sort of memory card or your phone to upload your pictures. You can even log into your Instagram account to print out photos from here directly. There are plenty of different options to choose – from instant printing, to 25 minute or 60 minute services and a whole range of different sizes. Being located inside a supermarket with a café means that you can upload your photos for printing, then go for a coffee or get your shopping done and then pop back for your photos later.
I wanted to get a few prints from our recent visit to Rococo Gardens. Despite the massive choice available, the interface is really easy to use. And if you do want help the staff are on hand to guide you through the process. Within a few minutes I had my photos printed out and ready to go. As good as my printer is at home, it really is no substitute for the quality of the printers at Jessops. I also had a canvas to collect. It was of one of my most favourite photos that I took – one of Emily at the Spectacle of Light at Sudeley Castle last year. I was not disappointed! The quality of both the canvas itself and of the printing on it could not be better.
I really can’t recommend the Jessops store in Cheltenham more. I am sure that pretty soon, I won’t have any wall space left for my prints. However, Jessops also photo cushions so there are plenty of ways I can keep displaying my favourite pictures!!
Disclaimer: I was provided with a canvas print free of charge in order to test out the service Jessops have to offer
