A Pony Called Steve – bath and body products
I don’t do many reviews of beauty products, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like trying new products. I especially like products I can use in the shower, to make my morning routine a little bit less mundane. I wasn’t going to refuse an offer to try some new products from A Pony Called Steve. Unusual name isn’t it? The company was set up by Emma and Aminah about five years ago. They were unable to find fun bath & body gifts for friends in beautiful packaging, without it being full of nasties – and at the right price, so they produced them themselves.
They produced a collection of bath and body products in wonderful fragrances, using 98% natural ingredients with almost all of their products being vegan friendly. All A Pony Called Steve products are hand made in tiny batches in the UK and are never tested on animals. Their products come in a range of exciting scents such as parma violets, green opal fruit sweets, pink lemonade and mojito. I was sent the parma violet soap and mojito bath and body wash to try out.
I am the kind of girl who loves parma violet sweets. I actually don’t understand people who don’t like them, however, it does mean more for me so I shouldn’t complain! A Pony Called Steve’s Parma Violets soap comes in a beautifully colourful box, and that is the only packaging involved – which is brilliant! The soap itself doesn’t actually look that special. It doesn’t have any colour or decoration, but I find it reassuring that this means there are no additives in their vegan friendly soap. What the soap lacks in looks, it makes up with its unmistakable fragrance and the way it makes your skin feel. I don’t tend to use soap any more. I ditched it for shower gels that didn’t make my skin feel tight. This soap was different to the soap I used to use. I felt really clean afterwards, yet my skin was moisturised. It smelt lovely too, although the scent didn’t last as long on my skin as I would have liked.
The mojito bath and body wash can be used both as a bubble bath and as a body wash, so I can enjoy the product for a quick morning shower, or when I have time for a long indulgent soak. This product is also vegan friendly. The scent is really lovely – and definitely helps put a smile on my face. The fragrance actually reminds me more of the “Refresher” sweets that I loved when I was younger – maybe that’s why it makes me feel happy!
The products from A Pony Called Steve make great gifts not only because they smell wonderful and the cruelty-free products are vegetarian or vegan, but also because they come in such beautiful packaging.
